Christmas Traditions

Every year in December my family always goes to a live nativity in Alpine.  We went the first year they started it, and it was so cute that we started going every year!  Well, this year so many people had heard about it that line was so long.  You had to wait in a very long line to get on the hayride just to get to the destination.  My family decided to skip the hayride and just drive all the way up there and park.  We got there and found another hour long line to get in!  We decided it wasn't worth the wait, we've all seen it before.  It was a little sad because we don't have very many traditions, and we wouldn't be able to do it this year.  My youngest sister Ella (she's 8) doesn't remember it very much, so she was very upset.  My dad ended up taking her while we all went and got dinner.  We had just picked up our food and we got a phone call from my dad asking us to come get them.  We were all so confused on how they got through that line so fast.  Turns out they went through it backwards...in the exits and out the entrances.   Shh don't tell. (;

Lucky for us there is this thing in Draper called "The Tree of Life."  We went to that with some friends and it was so pretty!  I want to know what their electric bill is, or even how many light bulbs they used.  It took four men three and a half days working eight hours a day to light this one tree. It was beautiful.  Its kind of a little park, so they also decorated all the trees and this cute little bridge.  After we had cinnamon rolls and hot chocolate in the pavilion, and just talked, laughed, and ate until we were full.  It ended up being a perfect night, especially the weather, it was so warm!  Here are a few pictures I took on my iPhone so they are not the best quality... but I had to share them.

 SELFIE! ...the flash was a little to bright for Caitlyn.
